| Outfly
was formed in Gothenburg, Sweden in late 2001 by four techno
producers, Erik and Christian from 'Aura - The source of trance'
and Claes and Nicola from the music production label Kyloe
Music. They started their collaboration 3 years ago and it
resulted in two tracks: " La marche de la lune"
and "Make you believe". Originally they called the
project "Dynamic" and it was under this name that
they had a success, mainly on the Internet. After uploading
the songs on mp3.com they noticed, to their surprise, that
many people flocked to their site to listen to their music.
It resulted in more than 3 million spins online, making them
an instant over night Internet music success. In June 2002
their released their first single "La
Marche de la Lune" on the Canadian label Linus
Entertainment/Warner Music and on Sept 3th 2002 the first
album "Land of Chakrila"
was released.
One
thing that distinguish Oufly from other bands in the genre
is their ability to perform their music live. Claes and Nicola
both have a past in rock music and are very skilled musicians.
Claes is a vocalist and plays the guitar, Nico are playing
the drums, percussion and the guitar. Erik takes care of the
technical part of the performance, backgrounds and sound effects
and Christian playing the keyboard. Instead of using several
different vocalists, as they did on the album, Outfly decided
to settle for a permanent female vocalist and front-figure.
For this job they found Anna-Karin, who also is a professional
dancer. After the interpolation of the vocalist Anna-Karin,
the project's name changed from 'Dynamic'
to 'Outfly'.
